Vitae Biomedical Collaborates with National University of Kaohsiung to Advance Real-Time Urine-Based Cancer Detection

Vitae Biomedical Co., Ltd. has entered into an industry–academia collaboration with the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at National University of Kaohsiung to develop next-generation biosensing technology for real-time urine-based cancer detection.
The joint project focuses on the development of highly sensitive sensing electrodes capable of detecting ultra-low concentrations of lung cancer–related biomarkers in urine. By integrating materials science, electrochemical sensing, and biomedical engineering, the collaboration aims to establish a stable and high-performance sensing architecture as a core component for future diagnostic systems.
The research scope includes sensing material design, electrode structure development, and performance validation. Initial milestones are expected to include the establishment of sensing materials and electrode configurations, followed by evaluation of detection performance and system stability.
Upon successful validation, the developed sensing technology may be integrated into Vitae Biomedical’s ongoing development of real-time urine-based diagnostic devices. This advancement is expected to significantly enhance detection speed and analytical efficiency, enabling more immediate and accessible cancer screening solutions.
Through this collaboration, Vitae Biomedical is strengthening its technological foundation beyond laboratory-based assays, moving toward portable and real-time diagnostic capabilities. The company will continue to expand its research efforts in urine-based detection technologies, accelerating the transition from laboratory innovation to clinical application while supporting future global market expansion.
